<p>The leader of Bharath Jagruthi, Kavitha, announced on social media that she was going to pursue legal action to expedite the Women’s Reservation Act’s adoption.</p>
<p>She is not a party to the Women’s Reservation Act lawsuit, thus she might join it with an implead petition. Following the census and delimitation process, the Act would provide for a 33% reservation for women in the legislatures of the states and the Parliament.</p>
<p>In her article, Kavitha said, “We will shortly file an implead petition in the ongoing case in the Supreme Court” and that she has already started expert consultations in order to ensure the “urgent enforcement of the Women’s Reservation Act.”</p>
<p>The Act, which would establish gender parity, was praised by the Supreme Court during a hearing on a petition that called for the reserving of seats for women prior to the 2024 elections. The case and another petition that is identical have been scheduled for November 22.</p>
<p>Following the BRS’s announcement of their candidate list for the next Assembly elections, Kavitha has drawn criticism. Despite being vociferous about women’s reservation, the BRS has only granted tickets to eight women for this election. The failure of the BJP to establish a schedule for the Women’s Reservation Act’s implementation has also drawn criticism.</p>
