The incident reportedly happened in a bazaar on Meerut’s Abu Lane late on October 23. Anubhav Goyal, a businessman, was recognized as the driver of the SUV, and Bhanu from Unnao as the balloon vendor. A crowd dragged him out of the automobile while he was allegedly intoxicated, and they gave him over to the police.

As soon as the SUV stops after striking the barrier in the footage, onlookers quickly gather, and the other occupants manage to escape via the broken windows of the wrecked vehicle. It was stated that a significant amount of alcohol was found inside the car.

According to reports, the driver admitted to the police that everyone else in the car was drinking when the collision occurred. According to eyewitnesses, the police first let the guy go without doing anything, but when the accident’s video went viral and caused a lot of controversy, the accused—who had been sent to a hospital in Muzaffarnagar—was taken into custody.

After high-ranking police officers had to step in, the case was filed under the relevant culpable homicide laws.
