Manish Sisodia Is Being Defamed By BJP For Spreading Lies, Says Atishi from AAP

Atishi, a senior AAP politician, attacked the BJP and the Centre on Saturday, accusing them of trying to discredit incarcerated former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia by disseminating false information about him.

This comes after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) said that it has attached two real estate properties held by Sisodia and his wife, in addition to bank deposits totaling Rs. 11.49 lakh, in the money laundering case involving the Delhi Excise Policy.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-63290″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-manish-sisodia-is-being-defamed-by-bjp-for-spreading-lies-says-atishi-from-aap-750×450-747202-untitleddesign16-11zon.png” alt=”” width=”1648″ height=”989″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-manish-sisodia-is-being-defamed-by-bjp-for-spreading-lies-says-atishi-from-aap-750×450-747202-untitleddesign16-11zon.png 750w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-manish-sisodia-is-being-defamed-by-bjp-for-spreading-lies-says-atishi-from-aap-750×450-747202-untitleddesign16-11zon-150×90.png 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1648px) 100vw, 1648px” />

Atishi said at a news conference held here that Sisodia had assets worth Rs 81 lakh according to an ED document. “The BJP is spreading lies about Manish Sisodia, the former deputy chief minister of Delhi, by telling the media that the ED attached his assets totaling Rs 52 crores in the excise case, when the ED document states that Sisodia only has total assets of Rs 81 lakh,” she said.

The AAP leader further said that her party was “not scared of the Centre and its agencies” and claimed that the BJP was “trying to defame Sisodia.” “The BJP wants to damage Manish Sisodia’s reputation since he was responsible for ensuring that every kid in Delhi received a high-quality education. The BJP has to realize that the AAP is not intimidated by them or their agencies. She said, “The BJP need to apologize to Sisodia and his family.

The senior AAP politician showed a paper and said, “Sisodia has assets of Rs. 81 lakh, which includes Rs. 11.50 lakh in his bank account, a flat worth Rs. 5 lakh that was purchased in 2005, and another flat worth Rs. 65 lakh that was purchased in 2018.”

The investigation agency has obtained a preliminary order under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) to seize the Sisodia couple’s and some other accused parties’ assets worth Rs 52.24 crore.
