Ludhiana gas leak results in at least 6 fatalities

After a gas leak from a factory in a residential neighbourhood of Ludhiana on Sunday, at least six people are alleged to have died and numerous more are said to have become sick, according to police.
Six persons passed away, while numerous more reported respiratory issues after a leak, a police officer told IANS.
According to him, the whole region has been cordoned off, and the people have been told to choose safer locations.
According to official sources, the situation of roughly 10 persons who reported respiratory issues is serious. Hospitals close by have taken on gas victims.
Locals were also shaken by the occurrence, and some even fled their houses to seek safety.
