<p>Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Sudhanshu Dhulia’s bench said that Delhi could not be forced to endure this every year.</p>
<p>The Punjab government’s attorney was informed by the court that “there cannot be a political battle every time.”</p>
<p>The Delhi government was also ordered by the court to make sure that refuse from municipal solid garbage was not burned outside.</p>
<p>The court raised concerns about burning agricultural residue, vehicle pollution, and open burning of rubbish while considering a case about air pollution in the Delhi-NCR.</p>
<p>The subject is scheduled for further hearing on Friday.</p>
<p>Following five days of extreme air quality, Delhi’s pollution levels were classified as “very poor” on Tuesday morning.</p>
<p>In the capital, the quantity of PM2.5, a kind of small particulate matter that may enter the respiratory system deeply and cause health issues, was seven to eight times higher than the government-mandated safe limit of 60 micrograms per cubic meter.</p>
<p>It was 30 to 40 times higher than the World Health Organization’s (WHO) recommended safe threshold of 15 micrograms per cubic meter.</p>
<p>A number of cities in the nearby states of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Haryana have also reported dangerously low air quality. The AQI values for Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Noida, Greater Noida, and Faridabad were 338, 364, 364, and 382 respectively.</p>
