Before Dortmund’s Champions League match against Newcastle, coach Terzic of Dortmund is calling for an optimistic outlook

Thinking optimistically is essential to Borussia Dortmund’s journey back to happiness.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-271633″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-download-2023-11-07t135423.757-11zon.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com download 2023 11 07t135423.757 11zon” width=”1196″ height=”796″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-download-2023-11-07t135423.757-11zon.jpg 275w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-download-2023-11-07t135423.757-11zon-150×100.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1196px) 100vw, 1196px” title=”Before Dortmund's Champions League match against Newcastle, coach Terzic of Dortmund is calling for an optimistic outlook 6″>

The UEFA Champions League group stage matchup versus Newcastle at home presents the ideal opportunity to turn things around, despite the disheartening 4-0 loss to Bayern Munich in the German Classico, according to Xinhua.

When BVB coach Edin Terzic said that “we went through 17 unbeaten games before, including the 1-0 victory in Newcastle,” he seemed to be adopting the persona of a mental trainer. It is our responsibility to keep it in mind and use it as motivation.

The 41-year-old exhorted his group to put the previous loss behind them and concentrate on the bravery they will have “when we unleash our potential.”
Even if Thursday’s matchup with the Premier League team is expected to be crucial in the battle for group F’s second spot behind table leaders PSG, he insisted that “it’s on us to show the suitable reaction and stay on track.”

Terzic emphasized the 2021 German Cup champions’ tenacity in bounce-backing from disappointments like missing out on the national title the season before. The Dortmund coach said, “We did come back.”

It’s anticipated that an arena filled to capacity with more than 80,000 spectators would be the ideal setting for them to make up for the Classico setback, “because it’s not something we did better; it’s still around.”

“We are not torn to pieces; we are not left back in debris and ashes,” sporting director Sebastian Kehl said with assurance.

Terzic and Kehl now look forward to Emre Can’s return as team captain because of his unwavering lion-hearted style of play. With his injury sustained in Newcastle, Can’s chances of returning on schedule are still slim.

Even while the Black and Yellow coach really believes that the loss to Bayern was a wake-up call, it seems that new players will inevitably be added to the defense.

Sporting director Kehl said that the team is looking at ways to bring in more talent during the winter break or in the summer of next year. The rumor that BVB is interested in Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly, whose contract expires in 2024, is circulating in the media. In addition to Kelly, current Manchester United star Jadon Sancho, a former Black and Yellow winger, is still being pursued. According to recent UK sources, Manchester United would be willing to negotiate for the talented attacker.

Terzic called for “an honest analysis” of the Newcastle duel that “tells us what we need to do to be successful.” The Dortmund coach believes that progress doesn’t need to be made in a big way. However, large dreams aren’t what’s required at this time: “It’s much more, discussing what is and is not realistically achievable.”

Before the pivotal matchup with the Magpies, Terzic said, “We know how to do it; we did it in Newcastle.”
