19 people were detained after being stoned during an Eid-E-Milad procession in Kushinagar, UP.

<p>Following conflicts between two groups on Thursday, racial tensions erupted in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh, during a Muslim religious procession. <p>According to accounts, a dispute between two groups broke out following a childish altercation in the Gola Bazaar neighborhood near the Ram Janaki Math temple in the Kasya police station region. Tensions in the community increased as one side of the disagreement accused the other of displaying weapons and hurling bricks and stones at them during the Milad parade.</p>
<p>However, the neighborhood was swiftly restored to calm when the local police sprung into action, arrived at the scene, and rapidly brought the situation under control.</p>
<p>In the meanwhile, emotions in the region increased as a video of the event gained popularity on social media.</p>
<p>A senior official said that during the Eid-e-Milad Un-Nabi parade, some miscreants threw stones at homes in Kushinagar’s Gola Bazaar neighborhood, causing tensions in the community.</p>
<p>“A dispute between two groups resulted in a fight in the Kushinagar district’s Gola Bazaar neighborhood. Some unruly individuals there got into a scuffle, SP Kushinagar’s Dhawal Jaiswal informed news organization ANI.</p>
<p>The officer also said that police had opened a file in this respect and that things were calm in the vicinity where the event occurred.</p>
<p>Numerous procession participants reportedly left the area as police arrived, according to the police, who also noted that originally six persons had been detained in connection with the event. After reviewing video from neighboring CCTV cameras, the police made a total of 19 arrests.</p>
<p>For the purpose of preventing any community unrest and preserving calm, police have been stationed in the area in large numbers.</p>
<p>Police claimed that more investigation is being conducted and that they anticipate making more arrests.</p>
