<p>Mumbai police detained three individuals, two of whom were women, on suspicion of using a smartphone app to broadcast live pornographic performances. <p>Versova police claim to have acquired information on the “Pihu Official App,” a smartphone software available on the Google Play Store that charges users between Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 10,000 to watch live sex.</p>
<p>The Versova police investigated the matter on Sunday by raiding an apartment in a building in Four Bungalow, Versova, after confirming the information. Tanisha Rajesh Kanojia, 20, Rudra Narayan Raut, 27, and Tamanna Arif Khan, 34, were detained during the raid on suspicion of being involved in the app’s functioning.</p>
<p>According to a report citing an officer, the three individuals who were detained were accused of violating the Information Technology (IT) Act and the Indian Penal Code (IPC) by selling pornographic materials to minors, engaging in obscenity on computers, and engaging in obscene actions.</p>
<p>The app’s operator has also been identified in the FIR, according to police.</p>
<p>A guy from Tamil Nadu’s Thanjavur district was detained by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in a related case earlier this year on suspicion of owning and disseminating child pornographic material online.</p>
<p>A report claims that over the previous four years, the accused, a 35-year-old male, had been sexually assaulting a youngster. He had taken pictures and films of the youngster in their underwear, which he had posted to his cloud computing account online.</p>
