Digvijaya Singh in the midst of the RSS Twitter controversy: “I am your fan; May God give you good sense”

Digvijaya Singh, a senior Congressman and the former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, prayed on Sunday that PM Modi and Amit Shah would see the light after their disagreement over his contentious tweet against the former head of the RSS, MS Golawalkar. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, charged Digvijaya Singh with “spreading misinformation” and inciting societal animosity against Golwalker after the Indore Police filed a case against him over the relevant tweet.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-65625″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-digvijaya-singh-in-the-midst-of-the-rss-twitter-controversy-i-am-your-fan-may-god-give-you-good-sense-download-2023-07-09t181521.217.jpg” alt=”” width=”920″ height=”515″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-digvijaya-singh-in-the-midst-of-the-rss-twitter-controversy-i-am-your-fan-may-god-give-you-good-sense-download-2023-07-09t181521.217.jpg 300w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-digvijaya-singh-in-the-midst-of-the-rss-twitter-controversy-i-am-your-fan-may-god-give-you-good-sense-download-2023-07-09t181521.217-150×84.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 920px) 100vw, 920px” />

Golwalkar was quoted as saying he would rather to remain under British control than see Dalits, Muslims, and the backwards have equal rights in the contentious tweet posted by Digvijaya Singh. In an encounter with the authorities, representatives of the RSS denounced the post and said that Golwalkar ‘Guruji’ had never said such things.

“Must know what Guru Golwalkar ji’s thoughts were for Dalits, backwards, and Muslims, as well as on the rights over water, forest, and land,” Digvijaya Singh wrote.

Digvijaya Singh sent out another tweet to PM Modi and Amit Shah as the issue was starting. “Modi ji, Amit Shah ji, you are gathering a band of cowardly traitors who used to besmirch you and are now praising you. When you lose power, they will be the first to go. You guys are doing a terrible thing; everyone who helped you through your difficult times is at home,” stated Digvijaya Singh.

“I will continue to criticise you. I am also your admirer since you have never wavered from your worldview, which I vehemently disagree with. Digvijaya Singh tweeted, “God may give you good sense,” along with the Twitter usernames of the BJP and the RSS.

Debate around Digviajaya Singh’s tweet
While a state congressman claimed Digvijaya Singh shared a snapshot from a book, he has been accused of using a manipulated photograph to attribute a bogus quotation to Golwalkar. The complaint claimed Digvijaya Singh’s tweet was intended to incite animosity amongst Muslims, Hindus, Muslims, and Dalits.
