To support the health infrastructure, the government decides to open all CAPF hospitals to the general public

The administration is working on an unprecedented step to open Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) facilities for the general public in an effort to make health infrastructure accessible to everyone.

All hospitals must be accessible to the general public under Ayushman CAPF, according to an official letter. Additionally, this will assist in meeting the demands of residents in rural and outlying locations.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-61070″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-to-support-the-health-infrastructure-the-government-decides-to-open-all-capf-hospitals-to-the-general-public-download-2023-07-06t180534.488.jpg” alt=”” width=”1414″ height=”792″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-to-support-the-health-infrastructure-the-government-decides-to-open-all-capf-hospitals-to-the-general-public-download-2023-07-06t180534.488.jpg 300w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-to-support-the-health-infrastructure-the-government-decides-to-open-all-capf-hospitals-to-the-general-public-download-2023-07-06t180534.488-150×84.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1414px) 100vw, 1414px” />

In a meeting with senior officials, Home Minister Amit Shah reportedly discussed improving the health facilities in border and rural regions.

All soldiers have been instructed to spread the word about this, and local units have been urged to tour adjacent villages and inform residents of the plan.

Security personnel have been instructed to create a designated public space that does not interfere with the security system. Additionally, it has been mandated that specific camps be set up to entice people to attend CAPF hospitals, particularly in difficult locations, which are mostly found near the borders.

All police hospitals and other medical facilities are located within the restricted area, thus security arrangements will be implemented to protect their safety.

The public is now not permitted at military clinics outside of emergency situations, however the military does organize medical camps in far-off places like Ladakh, J&K, and Naxal-affected regions.

The decision was made with the development of border settlements in mind. Due to a lack of health infrastructure, border village people sometimes have to travel for several hours to get medical attention. Even while the troops assist these citizens, the health infrastructure is not entirely accessible to them.

According to those knowledgeable of the issue, hospitals in rural locations get relatively little traffic since the deployment of soldiers is not particularly strong. Additionally, the need for centralized troops has lessened as a result of changes to the security systems in a few nations, and public usage of infrastructure is now possible.

In order to raise the issue with the relevant agency or ministry, the Home Ministry has also requested that all troops provide feedback on the Ayushman CAPF and report any problems that jawans or their families are having.

Recently, it was discovered that several hospitals affiliated with the Ayushman CAPF plan were overcharging jawans and their families for services. These hospitals were discovered to be illegally directly billing the staff before escalating the invoices to the National Health Authority (NHA).

It is unlawful to charge recipients any money for medical care or services since the health insurance program, a joint project of the Home Ministry and the NHA, is entirely cashless.
