Ten people were killed when explosions tore through two firecracker factories in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu

<p>One person was killed in the initial explosion, which occurred at a facility producing firecrackers not far from Sivakasi. A similar unit in Kammapatti village was startled by another explosion a few minutes later. According to police sources, the second explosion claimed the lives of nine people.</p>
<p>Firefighters were sent right away to put out the fire. However, the causes of the explosions have not yet been determined.</p>
<p>On October 9, an explosion at a firecracker factory in Ariyalur resulted in nine fatalities and several injuries. The troops working on the relief operation were able to save eight victims with serious injuries.</p>
<p>Chief Minister MK Stalin sent his sympathies to the bereaved families and instructed Labor Minister CV Ganesan and Transport Minister SS Sivasankar to keep an eye on the rescue efforts.</p>
