‘Modiji Promoting Himself…’: Kharge’s Scathing Attack On The Center Over The ‘Selfie Points’ Directive To The Indian Army

Mallikarjun Kharge, the president of the Congress, accused the federal government of “politically” using the Army for electoral purposes and sullied the institution’s honor by “capitalizing on the popularity of soldiers.” According to Kharge, the Modi administration has ordered the Army to build 822 selfie sites around the country where government programs are pushed rather than displaying the valor of troops, citing an earlier mandate from the Ministry of Defence.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-240585″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/theindiaprint.com-download-2023-10-17t182335.218.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com download 2023 10 17t182335.218″ width=”1233″ height=”759″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/theindiaprint.com-download-2023-10-17t182335.218.jpg 286w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/theindiaprint.com-download-2023-10-17t182335.218-150×92.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1233px) 100vw, 1233px” title=”'Modiji Promoting Himself…': Kharge's Scathing Attack On The Center Over The 'Selfie Points' Directive To The Indian Army 3″>

“Modi ji is marketing himself by leveraging the popularity of the valiant Indian Army personnel who defend the country. The Modi administration, Kharge said in a post in Hindi on X, “has done something which has never occurred in the previous 75 years by politically exploiting the army for elections.

He said that the administration is advertising itself and using the army in a way that hasn’t been done politically in the last 75 years by taking advantage of the troops’ popularity. “There is an idol-like image of Prime Minister Modi and praises of his schemes,” Kharge criticized the governing party in his tweet.

Kharge praised the gallantry of the Indian Army and denounced the BJP for supposedly undermining military honor while focusing on nationalism.

The Indian National Congress is very proud of the Indian Army’s courage and selflessness. The BJP, which preaches nationalism, has diminished the standing of the Indian Army, according to Kharge.

Prior to this, the Defense Ministry instructed its employees to establish “Selfie Points” in nine cities to highlight government efforts. These locations would display pictures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi alongside humanitarian programs including the Ujjwala Yojana, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and Mahila Sashaktikaran. The three armed forces, the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), and the Border Road Organization will set up the selfie spots in these nine cities.
