The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister will introduce a $100 million program to modernize skill development facilities

<p>On October 16, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy will introduce a Rs 100 crore initiative in Visakhapatnam to update training and skill development facilities all around the state.</p>

<p>“The chief minister will launch a Rs 100 crore programme to modernise the skill development and training institutes across the state, issue job offer letters to persons trained in various skills and would witness the signing of memoranda of understanding with major industries that will play a leading role in skill development activities,” according to an official release on Tuesday.</p>
<p>The state government has finalized partnerships with 182 businesses, including KIA Motors, L&T, JSW, Samsung, UltraTech, Schneider Electric, Hyundai Steel, and Johnson Lifts and Escalators, as part of the first phase.</p>
<p>These sectors should work together with the southern state to develop the most up-to-date skill infrastructure in a mission mode that keeps up with current trends.</p>
<p>As a one-stop shop for all skill development-related programs in Andhra Pradesh, the port city will also launch Skill Universe, a web platform and mobile application.</p>
<p>Skill Universe will accomplish convergence of development programs, integration of the skill lifecycle, and sectors of government agencies’ activities, including assisting businesses in finding skilled labor.</p>
<p>Between June 2019 and September 2023, more than 14 lakh individuals, according to the state government, received training in a variety of job and self-employment skills.</p>
