His relatives said he was highly upset as a result of ongoing intimidation and threats made by a bank employee, from whom Binu had lately obtained a loan of Rs 5 lakh.

According to his daughter Nandana, Binu was unable to pay back the debts for many months due to recent weak business conditions.

She informed the journalists, “My father obtained a loan from the same bank before, and he returned the full amount without fail.

Additionally, she said that Pradeep, who is purported to be the bank manager, threatened and harassed her father after visiting his shoe store.

“This depressed my father psychologically…He undoubtedly took the extreme action as a result of this insult, she said.

The wife, who was crying, stated that if it weren’t for that, he wouldn’t have chosen suicide and added that the guilty should face harsh punishment.

His wife and two kids are Binu’s only survivors.

The financial authorities have not yet responded to the situation.

According to Kottayam West police, a case was filed about the businessman’s death, and further investigation is ongoing.

After the post-mortem at the government medical college was finished, the deceased’s relatives and friends transported the corpse to the bank and protested by leaving it in front of the building for over two hours.

They urged the government and bank management to punish the staff members who they said were to blame for Binu’s demise.

Numerous political figures, including MLA Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, arrived and offered their condolences to the mourning family members.

Later, Kottayam SP K Karthick arrived at the scene, met with the family, and promised to take appropriate action against the offenders.

Demonstration marches were organized by members of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), the CPI(M)’s youth wing, in opposition to the bank on Railway Station Road.
