Jaishankar is delighted that Santiniketan has been designated a World Heritage Site

<p>Santiniketan, a neighborhood and the home of Rabindranath Tagore, is located in Bolpur town in West Bengal’s Birbhum district. The foreign minister, S. <p>During the 45th Session of the World Heritage Committee in Saudi Arabia on Sunday, Santiniketan was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List, the UN agency announced in a post on X, previously known as Twitter.</p>
<p>Jaishankar posted on X in response to Vishal V Sharma’s job as India’s ambassador and permanent representative to UNESCO: “Congratulations. Rabindranath Tagore, the first recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, and all others who have preserved his message are given a suitable homage.</p>
<p>On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi referred to the addition of Santiniketan to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites as a “proud moment for all Indians.”</p>
<p>He said on X, “Delighted that Santiniketan has been listed on the @UNESCO World history List as an expression of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore’s vision and India’s rich cultural history. For all Indians, this is a time to be proud of.</p>
<p>Santiniketan was founded by Maharshi Devendranath Tagore at Bolpur as a residential school and center for art in 1901. His son, Rabindranath Tagore, subsequently enlarged Santiniketan. In Santiniketan, a national university named Visva-Bharati was founded thanks to Rabindranath Tagore’s inspiration.</p>
