According to the official, the paintings showed Lord Hanuman bowed down before Sahajanand Swami, a saint from the Swaminarayan order.

Harshad Gadhvi, one of the accused, was seen in a video that went viral.

Gadhvi may be seen in the video damaging the Salangpur temple paintings. Jaisinh Bharwad and Baldev Bharwad, two of his colleagues, were with him, according to Superintendent of Police Kishor Baloliya.

The temple’s administrators has erected an enormous 54-foot statue of Lord Hanuman on its grounds. Sahajanand Swami (1781–1830), the leader of the Swaminarayan sect, is referred to as Lord Swaminarayan.

According to preliminary findings, Gadhvi may have broken through the barriers around the statue and used a large rod to damage and deface the paintings.
