<p>160 domestic flights to and from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport have been canceled as a consequence of traffic restrictions related to the G20 Summit. <p>These cancellations are planned for September 8 through September 10. 80 domestic flights total—80 outgoing and 80 arriving—have been requested to be canceled by various airlines over the course of these three days, according to Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL), the airport’s operator. It’s important to highlight that this lack of aircraft parking space is not the cause of these flight cancellations.</p>
<p>Due to security concerns and logistical needs for the summit, including the obligation to reserve space for the plane bringing the participants, this precaution has been taken.</p>
<p>“We are quite proud that India will be hosting the G20 Summit in 2023. The current report about canceled flights has nothing to do with parked airplanes. The required amount of parking space has already been reserved. Airlines seem to have taken the choice to cancel flights, perhaps taking into account the traffic limitations brought on by the G20 Summit. While we are aware that these cancellations may have an effect on around 80 arrivals and 80 departures, we are dedicated to working closely with airlines to reduce any disruption faced by customers, according to DIAL in a statement. Less than 6% of the airport’s regular domestic operations were affected by the canceled flights.</p>
<p>There is plenty of parking space available at the airport, according to authorities acquainted with the situation. Before the cancellation requests were received, prior plans had been established and were in place for parking the planes of foreign delegations.</p>
<p>However, as mentioned by these authorities, people are expected to have difficulty in getting to and from the airport to their ultimate destinations owing to the anticipated traffic restrictions across Delhi-NCR during the Summit time.</p>
<p>It’s important to note that, as indicated in the official release, the limits won’t have any negative consequences on overseas flights.</p>
