<p>He told the media during discussions with Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the Greek prime minister, in Athens that the two nations will enhance economic collaboration as well as military relations in the area of defense and security. India and Greece are a “natural match,” according to Mr. Modi, who noted that their relationships have a long and solid history. “Greece and India are a logical fit between two legendary civilizations, two legendary democratic principles, and two legendary commerce and cultural ties.</p>
<p>Our friendship has a long history and a solid basis, he remarked. He said that the fight against terrorism was another area of concern for all parties. The two nations will institutionalize communication between their National Security Advisors (NSAs) as part of it. Mr. Modi said that India and Greece support diplomacy and communication to settle the Ukraine conflict.</p>
<p>The Greek leader said that both parties are prepared to go ahead to address numerous difficulties, “especially in a period of upheaval and war in Ukraine”. According to him, there is room for extensive bilateral cooperation in the areas of business, defense, culture, and tourism since “our relations have greatly improved in recent years.” He said, “Our first goal is to double our bilateral trade.” In his remarks, Mr. Modi highlighted that the last time an Indian prime minister visited Greece was 40 years ago. Indira Gandhi was the last prime minister to go there in 1983.</p>
