<p>The defender, who was born in Kolkata, has joined Marina Machans on loan from East Bengal FC.</p>
<p>The team led by Owen Coyle has been in outstanding form and is undefeated in the current season-opening competition. Prior to the 2023–24 season, their team will have more depth with the arrival of the 25-year-old.</p>
<p>Golui has played four times for the national side and was a member of Mumbai City FC’s ISL-winning season in 2021. With four goals and seven assists in 80 games thus far in his professional career, he has also contributed offensively.</p>

Golui highlighted his delight about joining Chennaiyin FC by saying, “I’m looking forward to meeting my new teammates and everyone involved with the team and can’t wait for a great season ahead.”</p>
<p>Chennaiyin FC will be eager to maintain their outstanding performance against rival ISL team FC Goa after winning the group round. One of just two teams in the Durand Cup 2023 to win in every game during the group stage was Chennaiyin.</p>
<p>Chennaiyin had strong offensive ability throughout the group round, scoring a total of eight goals. Among those who scored goals were Rafael Crivellaro, Jordan Murray, Connor Shields, Vincy Barretto, Rahim Ali, and Farukh Choudhary.</p>
<p>The team’s defense seemed to be strong, having allowed only two goals in three games, making them a tough opponent in the final game.</p>
<p>24 clubs from the ISL, I-League, and the Armed Forces competed in the 132nd edition of Asia’s oldest football tournament. These teams were split up into six groups of four teams each. All six groups’ top teams, along with the two best second-place teams, have advanced to the quarterfinals.</p>
