According to state Forest Minister Jyotipriya Mallick, the Bardhaman Zoological Park in West Bengal will undergo renovations and new species including tigers, lions, hippos, and rhinos will be added.

After touring the park at the Ramnabagan Wildlife Sanctuary, Mallick told reporters that the state government is trying to expand all of the state’s zoos.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-104578″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/theindiaprint.com-west-bengal-government-plans-major-renovation-bardhaman-zoo-to-get-lions-and-tigers-11zon-750×498.png” alt=”” width=”1477″ height=”981″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/theindiaprint.com-west-bengal-government-plans-major-renovation-bardhaman-zoo-to-get-lions-and-tigers-11zon-750×498.png 750w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/theindiaprint.com-west-bengal-government-plans-major-renovation-bardhaman-zoo-to-get-lions-and-tigers-11zon-1024×679.png 1024w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/theindiaprint.com-west-bengal-government-plans-major-renovation-bardhaman-zoo-to-get-lions-and-tigers-11zon-768×510.png 768w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/theindiaprint.com-west-bengal-government-plans-major-renovation-bardhaman-zoo-to-get-lions-and-tigers-11zon-150×100.png 150w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/theindiaprint.com-west-bengal-government-plans-major-renovation-bardhaman-zoo-to-get-lions-and-tigers-11zon.png 1281w” sizes=”(max-width: 1477px) 100vw, 1477px” />

He announced on Sunday that construction at the Bardhaman Zoological Park would begin in about 2.5 months.

Along with other creatures and birds, we’ll bring in tigers, lions, hippos, and rhinos. Here will also be built a snake park, he said.

Additionally, a deer park will be built here. The birds would be housed in a separate area, he said.

However, due to a lack of room, the minister indicated that bears and hyenas will be delivered instead of elephants.

In addition, he claimed, amenities will be added, including a new dining area and two battery vehicles for the elderly.

At the Aipore Zoo in Kolkata, we already have such a battery-powered transport service in place. Here, a nursery will also be established where customers may purchase the plants of their choosing. There will also be offered certain products made by the Forest Department, such honey. Restaurants will also be available to the public, according to Mallick.

“The goal of creating the little zoo is to pique people’s curiosity about nature. It will become one of south Bengal’s top tourist destinations according to the state government. In this respect, a proposal would be forwarded to the Central Zoo Authority, he said.
