The mantras for the future workforce are skilling, reskilling, and upskilling: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi advocated for new-age policies for new-age employees while speaking via video conference to the G20 Labour and Employment Ministers’ Meeting in Indore. He also emphasized the need to train the workforce in the usage of cutting-edge technology and procedures. “We must all train our workers to utilize cutting-edge tools and techniques. The three tenets of the future workforce are skilling, re-skilling, and upskilling. Our Skill India Mission is an effort to engage with this reality in India, the speaker stated.

The mobile workforce will soon be a reality on a global scale, PM Modi said. Technology has emerged as the primary engine of employment in the Fourth Industrial Revolution period and will do so in the future, according to him. The mobile workforce will soon be a reality on a global scale. Therefore, it is now necessary to really globalize talent development and exchange. In this, the G20 must take the initiative, he added.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-87308″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-us-regrets-that-its-old-friend-henry-kissinger-has-better-access-to-beijing-than-current-officials-download-2023-07-21t182601.536.jpg” alt=”” width=”1412″ height=”791″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-us-regrets-that-its-old-friend-henry-kissinger-has-better-access-to-beijing-than-current-officials-download-2023-07-21t182601.536.jpg 300w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-us-regrets-that-its-old-friend-henry-kissinger-has-better-access-to-beijing-than-current-officials-download-2023-07-21t182601.536-150×84.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1412px) 100vw, 1412px” />

According to Modi, sharing data, statistics, and information about companies and employees might be a wonderful place to start. According to him, doing so would enable all nations to create policies that were supported by facts, improve workforce planning and skill requirements, and provide meaningful employment.

This calls for a new framework for global collaboration, correlation, and partnerships in migration and mobility, he added.

The G20 conference attendees’ attempts to start the worldwide reference of vocations by skills and certification criteria were praised by Modi.

The incredible job performed by frontline health professionals and other employees in India during the COVID-19 epidemic demonstrated their talent and commitment. It also demonstrated our culture of kindness and service. Indeed, India has the potential to rank among the world’s top suppliers of trained labor, the man added.

According to Modi, technology has evolved into and will continue to be the primary force behind employment in this period of the fourth industrial revolution.

“In order to deal with the quick changes, we need to develop a responsive and practical plan. Technology has evolved into and will continue to be the major source of employment in this period of the fourth industrial revolution, according to him.

The prime minister said, “Fortunately, this gathering is taking place in a nation that has experience with producing a significant number of technology employment amid such technology-led revolutions.

“Your host city (Indore) is home to many start-ups, leading to a new wave of such transformation,” he said.

According to Modi, the Skill India Mission was established to address the need for skilled labor.

“Under our Kaushal Vikas Yojana, special focus has been laid on industry 4.0 sectors like artificial intelligence, robotics, internet of things, and drones,” he added.

Modi mentioned the emergence of new worker categories into the gig and platform economies while he was discussing international collaboration.

“During the epidemic, they were the pillars of resilience. They provide flexible work schedules and complement other revenue streams. Particularly for young people, it has enormous potential for providing productive work, he said.

According to Modi, it is also a revolutionary instrument for the socioeconomic empowerment of women.

“We need to design new-age policies and interventions for these new-age workers to realize its potential,” he added.

The e-Shram platform, which was created to facilitate targeted interventions for these employees, has 218 million registered users, according to the prime minister.

“Given the multinational nature of employment, it is critical that all nations implement comparable solutions. We’ll be glad to share our knowledge, he said.

According to the prime minister, ensuring that individuals have access to social protection is a vital component of the 2030 goal. However, the international organization’s existing framework only narrowly accounts for benefit data structures.

The framework does not include a number of advantages that are offered in different ways. He said that we had programs for insurance, pensions, and universal public health care.

So that a true picture of social protection coverage is recorded, he remarked, “We must reconsider these benefits.”

He said that it is necessary to take into account the distinctive economic capacities, pressures, and difficulties.

He added, “I hope you (G20 countries) would be applying your expertise in thinking about a system that accurately reflects such efforts made by different countries.” Adopting a “one size fits all” approach is not acceptable for sustainable funding of social protection, he said.
