The foreign ministry in this city announced on Saturday that Nepal's Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, also known as “Prachanda,” will depart for India on Wednesday for a four-day official visit. While there, he will meet with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders to discuss furthering their long-standing, intricate bilateral relations.
After taking office in December 2022, this will be the prime minister of Nepal's first bilateral trip overseas.
The 68-year-old Prachanda will go with his daughter Ganga Dahal. At the request of his Indian counterpart, Prime Minister Modi, he is now in India.
A delegation that includes ministers, secretaries, and senior government officials will be led by him.
The prime minister will pay President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar a courtesy call during the tour, the ministry said in a statement.
On June 1, Prachanda and Modi will conduct delegation-level discussions. The two prime ministers will have a joint news conference after the meetings, according to the statement, and Modi will throw a luncheon in honor of his Nepali colleague and his team.
