The 32-year-old actor resided in a cohabiting unit on the 11th level of the exclusive Lashkaria Heights building in the Oshiwara neighborhood.
Though the precise cause of his death has not yet been determined, early indications indicate that a suspected drug overdose may have been the reason.
According to a police official, the actor's corpse has been submitted for an autopsy, the results of which are anticipated, and the Oshiwara Police Station is conducting further inquiries from all potential aspects.
The initial tip-off came from the actor's buddy, who discovered him unresponsive in the toilet of his house and took him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon admittance.
Rajput began his career as a model-turned-actor as a kid star in the glamour business almost 20 years ago. He was born in Uttarakhand but later moved to Delhi.
