Samad was eager to prove his value to the team: Badani

The Jammu and Kashmir batter's prior failures were 'hurting' him inside, according to Sunrisers Hyderabad batting coach Hemang Badani, who said Abdul Samad redeemed himself with a game-winning performance against Rajasthan Royals.
Although the 21-year-old has been with SRH since the 2020 season, they haven't gotten anything in return. But on Sunday night, he gave back the confidence with a 7-ball 17 in SRH's pursuit of 215.
Samad, who had been caught off a no-ball the previous delivery, smacked Sandeep Sharma for a straight six as SRH required four runs off the game's penultimate ball.
With a 7-ball 25, Glenn Phillips had re-included SRH in the contest.
The victory keeps SRH in the competition.
“This is a fantastic victory for us because it provides us a boost. A handful of our games might have gone differently, particularly the one against KKR when we needed nine runs off the last over. We failed to complete it. Additionally, we should have completed the game against Delhi at home, according to Badani.
“It will instill a lot of confidence in guys like Samad because we would have felt like he missed out on a couple of opportunities, and to have done it here, the next time he will bat differently in a similar situation,” said the author.
Samad was devastated following the defeat against KKR, according to Badani.
“I have to give Samad a perfect score. He was the first person to approach me after the previous game and tell me, “I should have finished the game.” He claimed it as his own. He wasn't pleased with how he finished.
“I am a retained player, and I want to prove to the team that I am worth their time and money,” he was thinking.
“We have worked on it because a few sides have attempted to do various things against him. This evening, one of them did come off,” said Badani.
