In a 2022 terror plot investigation, the NIA conducts 12 raids in J-K

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) searched 12 locations in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday as part of its investigation into a case that was filed last year. The goal of the search was to find evidence of a criminal conspiracy to carry out terrorist and subversive activities that was planned by the cadres and overground workers (OWGs) of various organisations that are prohibited from operating as well as their affiliates or offshoots at the direction of their Pakistani commanders and handlers.
In collaboration with security forces from the Union Territory and the Central Reserve Police Force, many NIA teams searched the homes of suspects and OWGs. In connection with the case, which was brought out in response to information that numerous terrorist organisations that have been placed under international embargo are operating in the former state of Jammu and Kashmir, the NIA also conducted searches at many places on December 23. The agency then conducted searches in the districts of Kulgam, Pulwama, Anantnag, Sopore, and Jammu.
According to the NIA, the case relates to a criminal plot to carry out terrorist and subversive activities that was hatched by the cadres and OGWs of various outlawed organisations, as well as their affiliates and offshoots, who were acting on the orders of their Pakistani commanders and handlers.
It said that “they are engaged in committing terrorist acts in Jammu and Kashmir using cyberspace, targeting minorities, security personnel, and sowing communal discord.”
The NIA had suo-moto registered the case on June 21 of last year.
The anti-terror agency had collected many incriminating items, including digital gadgets, SIM cards, and digital storage devices, from the houses of suspects during the search operation carried out last year.
