Why MG Ramachandran wore a white fur cap all the time

From the 1940s through the 1970s, MG Ramachandran ruled Tamil cinema. The public still recalls his standout performances in Malaikkallan (1954) and Alibabavum 40 Thirudargalum (1955). Along with excellent acting abilities, the late actor was also known for wearing a white fur cap. He was virtually always seen wearing the headgear.

His admirers were always interested to discover why the seasoned actor donned the headgear every single time. The cause of this may be traced back to K Shankar's film Adimai Penn. Adimai Penn was filming one of its shooting schedules in Jaipur, and MGR was given a white fur to protect himself from the dry weather. He continued using the cap on more occasions, and over time it came to represent him.

Along with the cap, he also had a Seiko watch and a pair of dark sunglasses. The actor was given these items when he was put to rest at Marina Beach on December 24, 1987, after passing away. On May 1, Adimai Penn celebrated 54 years since its first release. It was a big office hit. The film's director Shankar received the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for best film, while KV Mahadevan, who composed the music, won in the category of best music director.

The allegations state that MGR performed in movies despite having a renal condition. The late actor previously said to a site that retiring was not even a consideration. Sathi Leelavathi (1936), Manthiri Kumari (1950), Malaikallan (1954), and Thirudathe (1961) are a few additional movies in which MGR played the main character. Malaikallan, which had five language remakes, had the biggest box office earnings when it was first released.

Along with an accomplished acting career, MGR also dabbled in politics. He joined Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam after beginning his political career with Congress. He founded the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam political party in 1972.
