In Kerala, the recently inaugurated Vande Bharat Express was stoned

Officials were alerted of a stone-pelting incident that occurred aboard the recently inaugurated Vande Bharat Express train in Kerala.
The incident was reported as the train was running between Tirunavaya and Tirur, according to Southern Railway authorities. From Kasargod, the train travelled to Thiruvananthapuram. On April 25, the inaugural Vande Bharat Express to go through Kerala was launched off at Thiruvananthapuram Central Station by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“There were no injuries. One coach had a cracked windscreen. Police have opened an investigation. The decision to increase train security has been made, according to Southern Railway.
A new incidence of stone pelting against the Vande Bharat Express from Visakhapatnam was reported earlier on April 6, authorities said.
In the last three months, there have been three instances of stone-pelting.
According to authorities, miscreants' stone-pelting caused a carriage window's glass to break.
“While travelling from Secunderabad, stone pelting was recorded between Khammam and Vijayawada railway stations. According to a Waltair Division Railway news release, the incident took place on Wednesday night at South Central Railway zone premises.
Earlier in January, while undergoing maintenance in the Andhra Pradesh city of Visakhapatnam, stones were thrown at the Vande Bharat train. Near Kancharapalem in Visakhapatnam, a Vande Bharat Express coach's glass pane was broken.
“Some unidentified persons pelted stones at the Vande Bharat train as it approached Visakhapatnam for maintenance and train run,” claims Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Anup Kumar Sethupati. While the train was travelling from Visakhapatnam station to the coach care centre for maintenance, stones were thrown at the coaches.
The glass panes of a coach of the high-speed train were shattered earlier on March 12 in a reported incidence of stone-pelting on the Vande Bharat Express train from West Bengal, according to a statement from Eastern Railway.
According to reports, the event happened in West Bengal's Murshidabad district close to Farrakka.
The Vande Bharat Express train's two window panes were reportedly shattered in January 2023, according to the Railway Protection Force (RPF), after stones were allegedly thrown at the two coaches close to the Phansidewa region of the Darjeeling district. This was the second incident in the same month after stones were hurled at the train linking Howrah to New Jalpaiguri near Malda, breaking the glass panes of the Vande Bharat Express.
The incident occurred close to the Phansidewa region in the Darjeeling district, according to the RPF Commander.
“Window damage from stone pelting was discovered in Vande Bharat Express coaches C3 and C6. When the train was travelling towards New Jalpaiguri, it was discovered that windows had been damaged close to the Phansidewa area in the Darjeeling district,” he had stated.
