Kim Kardashian Shows Up to the Met Gala Red Carpet in Pearls in 2023

The Kardashian-Jenner family was reportedly not invited to the Met Gala earlier this year, so Kim Kardashian's decision to go with her oldest daughter, North West, shocked many.

Kardashian dazzled on the red carpet in an ensemble that the late fashion master Karl Lagerfeld would have loved. Her Schiaparelli-created look included a white midi dress made entirely of pearl strands, a silky corset bodice, and a golden-hued bra. The dress that Kardashian wore had a high neckline, an elaborate silver choker, and a gap in the pearl strands that partly revealed the satin corset waist. Volumetric ruffled sleeves that cascaded into a long crêpe train added even more splendor to the already lavish ensemble.

The reality TV actress added pearl earrings, a variety of rings, and ivory strappy shoes to the look. The outfit was a statement item, showcasing Kardashian's love for ostentatious clothing and maybe thousands of genuine pearls.

With a diamond and pearl choker, diamond stud earrings, white shoes covered in pearls, a matching pearl anklet, and an airy white jacket, she completed the bold outfit. Kardashian chose a huge updo and bronze-colored makeup.

With two curled face-framing strands, Kardashian's hair, which had previously been platinum blonde, was done in an updo modeled by Pamela Anderson's. Her makeup was neutral with cheeks that were flushed, as is her trademark.

Kardashian said that she chose a pearl-themed outfit in homage to Karl Lagerfeld and the renowned Chanel pearls during a Vogue livestream. “I wanted to be covered with pearls. She told the broadcasters Chloe Fineman and Derek Blasberg, “I instructed my daughter to get them all, they're genuine pearls. The attire was unquestionably a suitable choice for the occasion, demonstrating Kardashian's passion for opulent clothing and paying respect to the illustrious designer.
