James Gunn wants a human Superman who is "someone you want to hug"

The main actor for director James Gunn's forthcoming DC Studios film, “Superman: Legacy,” hasn't been chosen yet, but the cast and crew are “considering some really great choices,” he stated.

MCU stars Pom Klementieff and Will Poulter both hinted on the red carpet for Marvel's “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” as to whether or not they would work with the filmmaker on his future DC film.

According to Variety, Gunn said precisely what he wants from his Clark Kent.

“The next Superman has to be someone who has all the humanity that Superman has but he's also an alien,” Gunn told Marc Malkin of Variety. It must be someone you want to embrace and who has the same levels of goodness and compassion as Superman.

In response to the question of whether or not Gunn is casting 'Guardians' actor Chris Pratt for the part, the director stated: “It's not Chris Pratt. Maybe if he were a few years younger.

'Superman: Legacy' will be directed by the DC Studios co-head, who first revealed in December that he was scripting the script. This was later confirmed in March. The last thing he said was that “costumes, production design, and more are now up and running.”

Mantis in the 'Guardians' films, Klementieff, said that she is in discussion with Gunn about moving to the DC universe.

“We were already having chats and making plans. But nothing has been verified yet. She claimed she had her eye on one character, but she can't say who it is, simply that she's always “thought the character was fucking cool.”

Despite the possibility that Klementieff would work with Gunn on “Superman: Legacy,” MCU newbie Poulter plans to stick with Marvel. He said he hasn't even considered giving Gunn's Superman an audition. Not before right now,” joked Poulter.

“No, I'm really glad to be involved in this for the time that I am. grateful just for that.

'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3', which is directed by Gunn, opens in cinemas the following week.

Pratt, Klementieff, Poulter, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, Sylvester Stallone, Iwuji, Maria Bakalova, and Elizabeth Debicki are among the actors who appear in the most recent Marvel movie.
