Karim Benzema's hat trick propels Real Madrid to a 4-2 victory against Almeria in La Liga

Saturday's Spanish league match between Real Madrid and Almeria had a fear for striker Vincius Jnior's health thanks to a hat-trick from Karim Benzema in the first half. The result was a 4-2 Real Madrid victory.

Madrid retained second position with the easy victory over Almeria, but Barcelona kept a dominant 11-point lead after defeating Real Betis with nine men.

However, the outcome of Madrid's season will depend on the results of its Champions League semifinal rematch with Manchester City and its Copa del Rey final matchup against Osasuna next weekend.

The last thing Carlo Ancelotti wanted was to have his greatest winger grip his right knee and request to be replaced minutes after colliding with a defender, especially with Luka Modric already questionable for two crucial games.

Ancelotti predicted Vincius would be OK after the game.

Ancelotti said, “He had a knock on his knee that bothered him, but it's nothing, just a knock.” “I believe he will recover completely in a few days. He'll be prepared for the championship game.

Rodrygo, a fellow striker for Brazil, finished the match on the sidelines with an ice pack on his left knee. He didn't seem to be hurt however.

Prior to the Copa final against Osasuna in Seville, Madrid has one more Liga game at Real Sociedad. On May 9, Madrid hosts City three days later.

More significantly, Madrid's players displayed the drive they lacked in a 4-2 setback at Girona in midweek. Ancelotti said that his players lacked enthusiasm for the league after that loss since Barcelona was so far ahead in the standings.

At the Santiago Bernabeu, Vinicius dribbled past Houboulang Mendes and squared the ball with the outside of his right boot in the fifth minute before Benzema tapped in the goal.

After a daring dribbling play, Rodrygo, who had scored Madrid's fourth goal from long range shortly after halftime, assisted Benzema once again. Samu Costa of Almeria was slung over Rodrygo's back as he rolled the ball with the back of his boot to get it past the defender. In the 17th minute, he turned to face Costa to pick up his dribble and found Benzema to score.

After Largie Ramazani fouled Lucas Váquez, Benzema converted a penalty kick for his third goal in the 42nd minute.

After Lázaro scored in stoppage time of the first half and Lucas Robertone added a goal after Rodrygo's strike, Ancelotti, however, continued to have some concerns about his defense.

Ancelotti stated, “I don't know how we have let up six goals in two games. “I'm furious. I hope my team will get the message from this.

Due to receiving five yellow cards, Vincius and Eduardo Camavinga were both given one-game bans and will not play against Real Sociedad on Tuesday.
